"Looking forward to new Ministry and Mission."
Hope Of Christ Presbyterian Church 44 West White Street in Summit Hill, PA

Sunday Morning Worship begins at 10:30 during the winter months (generally this means from September to June.) At the last Session meeting a decision was made to move the time of the Service in the Summer to 9:30 beginning on Father's Day. The fellowship time will be postponed until the FAll when it will resume.   You would be welcome to join with us! Our Worship is traditional and we hope to be able to blend some contemporay music into our services. We use the Common Lectionary to decide what Scripture will be offered. We also depend upon lay leadership during the service as well. We are open to new styles of worship.

Our Sr. choir is led by David Perkins. They sing each Sunday. All are welcome to sing in our choir. We have  establshed a youth choir and a Handbell choir is in the works.  Their voices praise God mightily and the congregation praises God in song along with them. We have been asked if our choir is a professional choir. The answer is no but they certainly sound as if they are!

The Sacrament of Holy Communion is offered regularly during the Sunday morning Worship service on the first Sunday of each month begining at 10:30 except of couise diring the Summer when it will change to 9:30.

During the church year we offer special services that reflect the special church holidays within the church year. We offer services in Advent, Christmas Eve, Christmas. Lent begins on Ash Wednesday and there is a service on that night. Special Services of worship take place on Maundy Thursday (This year we will celebrate a Tenebrae Service on Maundy Thursday at 7:00 p.m.), Good Friday, Palm Sunday and Easter. Pentecost Sunday is a special Sunday for us as we celebrate the birthday of the Christian Church (we wear the Liturgical color red that day to tell the world that we are disciples of Jesus Christ.) Pentecost is also the day when young people are confirmed.

This year we will be confirming three more of our young people. The class will meet on Sunday evenings from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM.

On Pentecost this year we confirmed 5 of our young men and women. Two young ladies (Emily and Jessica Loudon) and three young men (Christian Gardiner, Michael Perkins, Austin Miorelli).
Each of them composed a Statement of Faith and met with Session prior to being Confirmed on Pentecost.
We are pleased to have each of them as our newest "disciples"!

Well, here we are in the fall/Winter of 2010.

We have  returned to regular morning Worship in September 2009 and now it is Winter 2010. We are readying ourselves for Lent.

We celebrated Jesus' birth on Christmas Eve at our annual Candlelight Service at 7:00 PM in 2009. It was well attended. We will hold another Christmas Eve Service this year.
